What Is The iWatch?
According to BlumeBerg Apple is working on “a wristwatch-like device that may perform some of the tasks now handled by the iPhone and iPad” Interesting but will it sell?
Wearable tech, we’re told, is the next big thing – and if anyone can make a truly desirable wearable device, it’s Apple. Its believed Apple has 100 designers working on the iWatch and fixing any challenges posed towards the iWatch.
Sounds like golden-child and knight of the realm Jony Ive, famous designer is working on the project. Having ordered in ‘boxes’ of Nike sports watches some years ago for research purposes. Again, that’s according to yet more Bloomberg’s inside sources. If its Jony Ive it will at LEAST look PRETTY.

The FT reported that Apple “has embarked on a hiring spree to tackle design problems” with the product, the iWatch is going to be Apples first new, original piece of tech since Steve Jobs Died (yay you finally thought of something a little.. original apple)
Google, Samsung and Dell have all expressed interest in developing watches, and dedicated companies such as Pebble have also seen widespread consumer enthusiasm for their own projects.

CEO Tim Cook even hinted at the iWatch during an investors’ meeting in February 2013. Well, he told investors that “obviously were looking at new categories” which is the same thing, right?
Some commentators, have asked the question whether watches are redundant because the existence of the mobile phone, with many consumers abandoning watches altogether. Nokia has previously said that its Windows Phone can show things “at a glance” thanks to ‘live tiles’ on screen.

Applications for trademarks for iWatch around the world, as well as patent filings, however, point to Apple’s growing seriousness in the area.
In April, Apple itself hinted at “exciting new product categories” with Tim Cook promising “some really great stuff coming in the fall and across all of 2014” – could some of that really great stuff be worn on your wrist? The iWatch might be coming out in 2014 or better yet, 2013 even, fingers crossed!
Apple recently hired Paul Denever, the outgoing chief executive of fashion house Yves Saint Laurent. His brief on ‘special projects’, reporting directly to Mr Cook, is thought to include watches. Does this mean the iWatch’s development is in full swing.

“Apple is experimenting with wristwatch-like devices made of curved glass,”says Nick Bilton, quoting “people familiar with the company’s explorations”. The Watch “can curve around the human body” and it might be the just-announced Willow Glass, which “can flop as easily as a piece of paper in the wind without breaking.”
Adding credence to this particular supposition is the fact that Apple has patented a slap band style wrist band. which would require such a flexible display. Apple’s patented plenty of tech that never sees the literal light of day.
A Chinese website called Tech.163 thinks the iWatch will have bluetooth and a 1.5 inch screen. The iWatch might have siri, maps and health monitory, similiar to the nike wrist watches.
